Fashion of the Moment: Army Brat
by Kith on May.19, 2009, under Uncategorized
I wasn’t an army brat myself but I have friends who were. When I bought these pants I knew I had to put something really funky and ‘teen army base’-ish together. S&Q makes some really fun stuff, but these pants were some of my favorites I saw there. They have nicely done prim pockets and the bottoms were ok once I shortened them a bit. Check out the fubar patch on the side!
Included in this the ‘Parker’ by ce.cubic, something Ryan and I were talking about ages ago. I love this damn thing so much. It’s hard to make that shoulder baring bit work prim wise but when you do it looks awesome and just a smidge sloppy and a lot sexy. Well….I think so anyways. ;) Check out Ryan’s sexy post to see it in action.
What else do I want to mention…..lets see…..OH YEAH, Seabreeze is freaking awesome. I was looking everywhere for decent dog tags and found a ton of the perfectly clean, way too brightly textured ones, or the blingy diamond ones….nothing that suited the look I was going for really. I found Seabreeze, a tiny tiny shop and got these for like…less than 50L as I recall. Which blew my mind, they rock.
Dare hair rocks, of course and I love their reds, those awesome green eyes are totally by BettiePaige Voyager. Lets not forget my favorite Role Optic sunglasses, Dion. They rule, texture change, animated up and down poses. Awesome.

Adam n Eve: New mens skins, Dylan and Justin
by Kith on May.13, 2009, under Uncategorized
I honestly don’t review skins too often, mainly because my shape is made by me which makes it a little bit on the awful side. Really Den-Dou is the only skin I can wear without looking freakish which is kinda sad. BUT my friends are pushing me to try different shapes and skins maybe and not be afraid to tweak things for each skin. Yeah, okay…I may give that a go. But this time I just used some slightly modded Doppelganger shapes for trying out these skins.
Anyways, so sachi made some new men’s skins for Adam n Eve and I was so impressed with the quality. Here I’ve tried on both the Dylan and Justin skin. One thing I love about her skins is the glow, there is a very nice healthy glow to them that is pretty sexy, it was the first thing I noticed. Also there are hair and bald versions and the skin with the hair included looks very very nice. The short cut looks touchable and is nicely textured. On Dylan you can see a bit of scalp and on Justin you get a rich blend of colors that many natural red heads have.
Another thing I really liked were the details on the knees and along the arms. Overall these are great skins, sadly just not my style but if I saw them on another guy my head would definitely turn. Also these skins will not break the bank, you get a set for 1200L which is really fantastic. 3000L for the multi-buy. You just can’t beat that.
Make sure to check out the mens clothes and shoes as well!

Fashion of the Moment: All Punked Up
by Kith on May.05, 2009, under Accessories, Hair, Jeans, Shoes, Tanktop, Uncategorized
So yeah, it’s been a while again since my last post on this blog. Had some hosting issues but all is well now!
For this post I decided to do something totally off my normal look. So here we go, punking it up and I blame it on the No Name Inc people, I love these jean shorts/overalls. Mix it up with some rocking hair from boon and these very cool chuckers from Dirty Lynx (I love these shoes) and I was ready to go smoke some cigs on a street corner or go um…do whatever it is punks do…? Hey what can I say, I’m a gaming geek! I don’t know anything about being punk. But I do like fun looks and I definitely had fun with this one.

Fashion of the Moment: The Equestrian, Part 1
by Kith on Apr.05, 2009, under Accessories, Hair, Long Sleeved Shirt, Pants, Shoes
I’m a bit of an equestrian, when I was in middle school I was hopping on horses when my friends were playing baseball and soccer. It’s been a while since I was on the back of a horse but after spotting some virtual horses in Second Life I wanted to see if I could put together some kind of riding outfit…
Valiant with Stokely…
by Kith on Mar.25, 2009, under Accessories, Hair, Pants, Photography, Shoes, T-Shirt
Gah, long time no post!
I have to admit I had a bit of a ‘fan moment’ when Stokely asked me to do a joint post with him. I love his sense of style! Also, he is just that gorgeous in person as in his photos. I had moments where I would cam over and be surprised yet again at how amazing he looked in-world. Anyways, back to the story! I logged in to him tping me to the new Valiant store and we were both blown away. Wavie & Co. did a fantastic job! When he mentioned doing a joint blog post I leapt at the chance. Poor guy had to sit through a few bouts of me being unavailable but once we hooked up the rest was smooth sailing until I took too long to post my end of the blog. You can read his post here: Valiant Dolls @ Stokely’s Closet He looks amazing in Valient’s blue 3/4 length sleeve shirt.
Back to Valiant, we were positive we could put together plenty of outfits based on Valiant’s line. In dressing Stokely I tried to keep his style in mind. The striped yellow shirt appealed to both of us and I loved the lighter jean capris paired with it. It’s not often I see silver men’s jewelry I like but this silver bracelet totally caught my eye.
As for my look I went with orange with I normally avoid but in this it looked pretty okay, even with the closeness to my skin tone. The beachy pants are really fun though working with all the prims wound up being a little difficult. The cuffs have an unusual shape to them. But I do love the prim pockets and the cool buttons on one pocket…(which I forgot to get a closeup of, yikes!) There are prim ties on the cuffs and at the waist too, really fun. One thing I love about Valient’s t-shirts are their textures. Really nice soft cotton look.
Some last minute notes: My hair is from boon, eyes by Poetic (my favorite) and necklace from M.R.M. Factory. Stokely is wearing hair from Kmadd I think and shoes from hoorenbeek. Make sure to check out Valiant’s new store! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Valiant/76/133/22/
A Night in Monmartre…
by Kith on Feb.22, 2009, under Accessories, Hair, Jacket, Long Sleeved Shirt, Photography
So I’ve been a bit of a slacker in posting and I’m going to be slacking a little more here but bear with me! Things have just been crazy in SL and RL. Part of my busy has been working on some fashion things for my flickr friend MarJacobs and his project FOLIE Magazine. I did 3 different looks for him and after the magazine goes out I’ll post them in my blog…but for now they’ll be magazine only. As soon as the magazine is released I’ll post here though.
This look is one I figured I’d post here. I wanted something classy and european looking. As I’m just a middle class American I knew it would prove to be a bit challenging but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
I just recently discovered AOHARU (yes I know, I’m living under a rock) and had to grab the trench for this look. Recently TRUTH had a sale and I picked up a ton of great hair. This one, called Mr. Smith seemed to fit this look perfectly. Loving the blond too, though not as much as my usual red.
Oh and speaking of blind, I just now grabbed some of Kmadd’s eyes and this ice blue set was stunning. Reminds me of that winter blue color that huskies eyes have…Beautiful, I didn’t realize Kmadd did such great eyes….but then again they do everything at an amazing level.
My apologies, no SLurls for any of these….all are easy to find on the sl search feature, I promise. Bed is calling so I’m off!

Fashion of the Moment: Bitter Love
by Kith on Feb.11, 2009, under Accessories, Hair, Jacket, Jeans, Photography, Shoes, Short Sleeved Shirt
So Valentines Day is coming up and I was torn between doing something fun and funky for it or something a little more grrr for all those anti-v-day people. Of course I couldn’t decide because I’m Mr. Indecicive! So here is part one of the LOVE duo, this one is Bitter Love. For fun here is a song by Hedley called I Don’t Believe It. Mind you, I just like the song and I’m definitely not feeling bitter this V-Day, lol.

I really wanted to get an ‘on the edge of romantic’ feel to the style. I included a touch of brown and the plush look of velvet just to drag in the suggestion of bitter dark chocolate and cherry cordials (which I personally find to be way too sweet). Not sure I achieved any of what I wanted with this look but I had fun putting it together. Also, Zero Number is my new favorite shoe store. Not much in selection but their stuff is gorgeous.

Fashion of the Moment…Cyberleather
by Kith on Feb.05, 2009, under Belt, Glasses and Shades, Hair, Long Sleeved Shirt, Pants, Shoes, Tanktop
Okay so…I know I mentioned before that I love this a.c. store top and have been trying to squeeze it into different outfits. I went with Galatea to a Bladerunner-esque sim and decided I wanted to go all…cyber super spy so I dragged these pieces from my wardrobe.
Obviously I’m obsessed with this top. But for good reason, I think! It has incredible little details, soft folds and textures, not to mention the great prims and gloves that really makes it excellent.
I didn’t think I’d ever find a unique piece of clothing that grabbed me like the CheerNo DJ jacket but these leather pants are definitely right up there. Not to sound even more vain than a blog full of self-photography already makes me out to be but….I think they make my ass look fantastic. These pants have some amazing details along the upper thighs, leather looking folds, lacing up the groin that looks oh so real…even the leather texture looks butter-soft. And my ass looks fantastic. Did I mention that?
Muism again. I promise the next 3 posts I will try and restrain myself from wearing Muism. I honestly can’t help it, I love their basics. Particularly their shirts and tanks. But the belt was a new purchase and I’m loving it so far. Great little details and subtle coloring make it perfect for my wardrobe.
I think by now everyone knows Role Optic but if you don’t you have to get your butt over there and look at their work.
BTW, I totally blame those boots on Stokely.

SL blogger diva Achariya posted a blogger challenge and honestly I had NO idea about it because I’m still living in freaking clueless land with sl fashion blogs. (anyone want to lay some good links on me?) A friend tuned me in and so I decided to give it a shot. I was doubly intrigued about the selected item because I LOVE Armidi for the simple fact that they make a slew of killer ‘basics’ for any wardrobe. Not only do they cover all your fashion bases but they come in a billion colors and have brilliant textures.
Anyways! Onward.
